Install the surefish dialler program

This guide is for users of the surefish.co.uk and fish.co.uk email service, wanting to install the program that will alter the settings of their PC to dial the 0845 number that raises money for Christian Aid. This program should not be used by users of Macs, those who have broadband and those without a surefish or fish email account.

If you use broadband, please do not alter the settings. If you would like to switch to surefish broadband, please click here

You will need to download the program, called a dialler, as it dials into the internet!

You do this by clicking here: http://www.broadbandscope.com/surefish_dialler/

Click on Pay As You Go (PAYG) to downloads the Pay As You Go dialler or Surefish Unmetered (UM) for flat-rate internet access.

Once you click on whichever link applies to your account, you will see the following screen (the PAYG dialler has been used in thsi example).

Click on Save, and you will be asked where top save the ZIP file containing the dialler.

Select a location and click Save.

The download will now start. Once complete, you should see the box above unless the Close this dialog (sic) box is ticked.

You have now downloaded the file! Now you need to open and install it.

Click on the ZIP file in the location where you saved it.

Once clicked, the folder should look like this. Click on the file ending with Setup.

You may get the following message. Select Extract all.

Some computers may take you through a wizard (a helping hand program) to extract the files. If you see the above box, select Next >.

Select Next > again. This will complete the ZIP file extraction process.

Make sure the Show extracted files box is ticked and click Finish. You should then see the next box, which is similar to the one you've already seen.

Click on the file with Setup at the end of it, and the following box should appear, which is where you specify ytour email address and the password you use to access emails.

Click OK when the information has been typed in. You will then see the following box, about the location of your telephone:

Type in the area code of your telephone line and click OK.

You may get another wizard asking you to select your modem.

If this window appears, click Next > if you want the computer to select your modem. If you are happy to do this yourself, tick the Don't detect my modem box.

You may see this box, which detects the modem and its location on your computer. Click Next >.

If you see this box, click Finish. The computer now knows where your modem is!

If you see this box, click Yes. You will then see this box:

Click OK and you will see the following box.

This process will also install an icon onto your Desktop which you can double click to access the internet using the surefish 0845 number.
