It is a country property in North Wales with a three acre field. Since my husband's serious illness it has got too much for us to cope with.We were at our youngest daughter's home in Chester last week, when my husband announced that it would be a good idea if we bought it. They are hoping to sell too, and move to a larger house in Chester, now their children are getting older. I hadn't thought of living in the city, as I prefer the country, so it would be a huge compromise on my part. But there is more for my husband to do there, and he likes Chester having worked as a secondary school headteacher in the city until 2003. Our daughter's house is quite small in comparison with our own, and is a semi, which I am also not too keen on. However, the area and neighbours are pleasant, and of course we know it well as they have lived in the house for about 8 years. Of course it all depends on us selling this property. I shall get a number of estate agents over in the next few weeks to see what it is likely to go for. We have bought and sold many houses in our 40 years of marriage, I can't say the prospect fills me with glee. I wish I could close my eyes and wake up in my new home without all the hassle! So if you know of anyone looking for a country property in a picturesque, low crime area just point them in my direction.:)

Advice on family discontent and lies.

Hello,I have come back to these boards hoping to be proved wrong. But we are sure it will be futile exercise. My sister in law claims she sent us an email after we stopped speaking to them because of what they now claim (18 months later) is a misplaced email. This email meant we could not go to the police about child molestation.Unfortunately we do not believe her. She had known for 8 months exactly why we walked away from her and her hubby, but did not come forward with this information. It was only when I got tired of being blamed of using the situation as an excuse for causing a family feud that we decided to meet with these people. Even though his parents defended him and we heard nothing from him until a few months after my mother in law and I argued over whether he had apologised or not. We have tried to keep the rest of the family out of it. Chose not to go to the police, so the lad had a second chance, but really do not want to see him ever again. (He was almost 18 when it occurred and 23 when we found out. His victim was 11 at the time.) He has never denied abusing her, just whether or not she objected. We tried meeting with them, asking only for a letter apologising for calling her a liar as they have no proof, and for telling relations that their son's actions did not cause our daughter's breakdown and depression. The email excuse came out in that meeting, and the apology did not materialize. Christmas saw the molester invited to the family get together. Leaving us feeling very exiled and very hurt. We are now tempted to show the rest of the family all the letters that show his parents defended their son, and claimed she lied. We would also explain why we believe they have lied. My mother in law favours her elder son, rings him fortnightly, and visits regularly. But has not visited us since we found out, and has only rang twice. Hubby has decided not to ring her every week from now on. Any ideas on how we could progress?I'm not sure showing the family everything is very fair to them.Mini

Jokes

The cardinal was finding it difficult to impress his guest, so he took him into his private study to show him his three most treasured paintings.

The one on the left was of the cardinal himself. "Do you think that is a good likeness?" the cardinal asked his guest.

"It is an excellent likeness," the guest replied. "The painter has even managed to capture the way you lift your eyebrows."

"And what do you think about that as a portrait?" asked the cardinal, pointing to a painting of the Pope that hung on the right.

"I've never met his Holiness," replied the guest, "but it certainly looks like all the photographs I have seen of him."

"What about the one in the middle?" asked the cardinal.

For a few moments the guest contemplated the middle picture, which was of Jesus Christ Himself, and glanced back at the other two.

"Well," he said finally, "I've always known that Christ was hung between two thieves, but I never knew who they were before."

Ideas for a Credit Crunch Brunch.

A Scotch Goose = A saussage with a feather in it!

anymore?

Let's have a party!

Will this work?
