' We in the church have the ability to change the direction of the wind…'
Tony Campolo, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus, Sociology, Eastern University

The Act Justly appeal is a way for the whole church to respond to God’s call to ‘act justly’, through teaching, worship and giving, particularly to the work of Christian Aid 's partner ACET (AIDS Care Education and Training) in Uganda.

The appeal pack contains everything you need to raise awareness in your church of how ACET and (and other Christian Aid partners in Uganda such as YWAM) have helped reduce the official rate of HIV/AIDS infection in Southern Uganda from 13% in 1992 to 4% today.

It includes information for everyone in the church, inspiration for teaching and worship and worksheets and ideas for children.

It complements the Act Justly video and includes a CD-rom, giving you everything you need to help your church to get involved!

Endorsements for the Act Justly appeal

‘The greatest weapon of mass destruction…. is HIV/AIDS. It’s wiping out people on a massive scale. Worldwide, 38 million people are living with HIV – mostly the poor. We must call upon the governments of the world to recognise that the responsibility of every wealthy nation is to respond to poor nations that are undergoing this tragedy… We in the church have the ability to change the direction of the wind…’
Tony Campolo, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus, Sociology, Eastern University

‘I have just returned from Uganda and the people I met there, with their stories of hope, have had a profound effect on my life. Would you help Christian Aid and their partners by getting involved in the Act Justly appeal and support them in any way you can? Let’s not forget the poor and the needy. Let’s give of our money, our time, our prayers and together let’s make a difference.’
Nancy Goudie, New Generation Music and Mission (NGM)

‘HIV/AIDS is one of the biggest threats facing our world today. The Act Justly appeal is a challenging resource to help local churches engage with the issues and support those fighting HIV/AIDS on the front lines. I commend it to you.’
Steve Chalke MBE , Founder Oasis Global and Faithworks
