Challenge Events
Have fun, get fit and help poor communities around the world!
Spring has arrived! It’s green outside, the clocks are about to change so it’s time to get out there and enjoy yourselves! Christian Aid has a sparkling array of events for you to take part in.
Whether you want to go all out and climb the three highest peaks in the UK, or just fancy a local 10k run; for every step you take, you’ll be helping people to work their way out of poverty.
Running
BUPA Great North Run
If you’re up for the challenge of a lifetime, we’ve got 150 places in the Great North Run on October 5th 2008. The world’s biggest half marathon with the most electrifying atmosphere is always a mind-blowing event which sells out fast. We’re asking runners to raise just £300 to take part.
If you’re not up for intense running, or if you just like a jog round the local park, then why not harness all your good energy and take part in a 10k? These are ideal distances to introduce you to running and we’ll give you a week by week training plan so you’re at your peak on race day!
BUPA Great Manchester Run
Add a little10k to your Christian Aid Week
We’ve got 150 places in the BUPA Great Manchester Run taking place on Christian Aid Week Sunday 18 May. A great course, fabulous entertainment and the encouraging cheers of the Manchester have marked this out as one of the world’s fastest growing runs. We’re asking runners to commit to raising £150 for this race.
BUPA London 10000
Be the first to test the new Olympic Marathon route!
On May 26th join the Christian Aid team and take part in the brand new BUPA London 10000. Ballot places are all gone, so this is your only chance to get involved with the most exciting running event this year.
We’re asking you to raise just £500 and just think; you’ll be cruising past sites like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace and finish with the crowds roaring, knowing that you’ve made a difference to some of the world’s poorest communities.
If you want a Christian Aid place, or if you’ve already got your own place, in any run in 2008, join our official team and we’ll support you all the way.
Just give us a call on 0207 523 2221 and we’ll offer you bucket loads of fundraising advice, training plans, a running vest, invitations to the ‘chill-out’ zone at our post-race receptions and a dedicated member of staff to help with anything you need.
